Motorówka Samarytanka

The motorboat was commissioned by the Gdynia Maritime Office, which became its owner. The unit was to serve as a kind of water "ambulance". It was intended to transport patients ashore from ships standing in the roadstead of the Gdynia port.
The construction of the unit and its introduction into service was also strongly linked to the seriously increasing Polish overseas emigration passing mostly through the port of Gdynia at the beginning of the 1930s. The motorboat was to maintain the necessary communication between the ships and the so-called Emigration Stage located in Gdynia's Grabówek, and later also with the quarantine hospital built at Babi Doły.

The historic motorboat "Samarytanka" is currently an exhibit at the Naval Museum in Gdynia, on which our company is currently carrying out a refurbishment that includes replacing the deck and gangway, as well as the slide deck.
